We help children in Hamilton to make Pivot Animations

Today we taught a class at Melville Intermediate, Waikato, how to make a Pivot animation through Skype and Adobe Connect- a screen sharing application. The children could see what was on our computer screen and George and told them what to do through Skype. How cool is that! After the event Mr W, their teacher, sent us this comment......

"I wanted to thank you and your classroom for our wonderful, wonderful learning experience this afternoon. Nick who was shown Pivot was absolutely thrilled with the experience as I was. I have never really considered Skyping with another class but suddenly it seems to be a hugely moving and motivating experience. My students were so excited they could hardly contain themselves! This has been an absolute highlight of the term and a wonderful experience. We can't wait to share our Pivots with you.

Thank you so much for a wonderful 'IT' moment!"

It was a wonderful moment, and we're about to put a post online but why does the title of your blog post say "We help children in Auckland?" when of course were a proud Hamilton School. Many thanks once again.

Sorry about saying you were in Auckland. Everything north of Cook Strait is foreign lands for us.

I have changed the title!

Wow! What an exciting experience for you all and a great way to share your knowledge and skills with others. It's fun to collaborate with classes in other places. Our class is doing a VoiceThread project with children in Australia and we think it's a lot of fun. They're teaching us about the Aboriginal people.
Are we going to be able to see some of the pivot animations?

Wow, Tullamore do you realise that your dad went to Melville Primary and Intermediate - I wonder if they would remember him?
How great that your classes are able to share information together like this.
