Moturoa Day

1. We will have a piratical sort of morning this morning.

2. We are going to do a little pirate maths on the computer. We are learning to how use map co-ordinates to find out where the pirate treasure is hidden.

3. Then we are going to use the free iPad app to solve the eight challenges of The Pirate Treasure Hunt. Arghhh me hearties.

4. Then we will write our own pirate like dialogue using Puppet Pals.

If we need some pirate vocabulary we can look here!

Talk like a pirate vocabulary list. If we come across some more pirate words we can add them to the list.

We also showed our creativity by using Pirate Scribble on the iPad. You have to complete each of the pirate drawings and then they come alive! Pirate Scribble costs $2.59

Here are a couple of pictures Hannah drew with the Pirate Scribble App.

Augmented Reality Poetry

Today we did some pretty tricky eLearning with Allanah.

  1. You need to have Aurasma on your device. Here's a link to the iPad version and to the Android version.
  2. To read these auras you need a QR code reader like QR Reader on your iPad or QR barcode scanner on your Android.
  3. Scan the QR codes and let the aura load on your device. Then shine Aurasma at the pictures and you will be treated to us reciting the poems for you.
  4. Good luck

Introduction to Augmented Reality

We are going to have a go at making some auras. To get the idea we looked at the app AR Dinopark. It was great that some of the class already knew of it because they had been reading the blog and seen what we had been doing in other classes.

If they were still living like this we would be scared.
