Make An Organised List

We have been problem solving for maths and today's activity was to make an organised list.

We had to find out how many different ways four children could stand for photographs and not repeat the photos.

Before we took the photos we got ourselves into groups and then we made our organised list- we listed the four people for the first photograph, then we wrote down four columns of combinations of people in order. Each person had a turn at being in all the places.

We worked out that we needed to take twenty four photos. The video is 24 frames long- one for each of the items on our organised list.

Luc went on to work out how many photos you would have to take to get all the combinations for six people! Can YOU work out how many photos you would need to take?
