Miss K visits Point England School in Auckland

What a day out in the big city! I had to get up really early to catch the 7:00am plane up to Auckland. All started out well but as we sat on the runway ready to go the pilot said that one of the propellors wouldn't start properly so we all had to get off and wait for a couple of hours for them to get another plane!

I took this photo of Mt Taranaki once the new plane got underway.

We got to Auckland a couple of hours late and missed out on seeing how the students from Point England School put together their daily TV broadcast. We got there to see the final part where their show is broadcast to the school. It was excellent.

Then we watched as Alosina, Charin and David recorded their latest podcast. They were excellent and I learnt a lot about how they managed and organised their recording. Great skills.

Here is a web link to listen to Point England Podcasts

And for the KPE kids a link to Appleby School's podcasts

After that we went to visit Room 15 where we were excited to find out the email I had sent to Point England school to encourage their podcasters had been printed out and children were looking to reply to it. I even had my photo taken with the printed email to prove it!

It was a great day out and I really appreciated the welcome we got from the Point England staff and children. Thank you so much Point England.

On the way home in the plane I took this photo from the plane window. In the distance you can see Mount Ruapehu and Mount Tongariro. What do you think that big triangle of shadow is on the land below. Write what you think it is in the comments and I will let you know if you are right on Monday!

A bit way off from the Bermuda Triangle but nevertheless intresting! I look forward to learning what it is soon.

It sounds like you had an interesting and worthwhile trip to Auckland Miss K. Does this mean that Applbey School will now have a daily TV broadcast. Let me know I would love to come in and see you all star in it.

I think it is either the wing or tail of the plane.Ruby

Are you sure its not the wing

I think it might be a wing and miss K do we get a prize if we get it right.Elliott

I think if you get it right there might be some kind of reward. By the way - your guesses are not right so far so keep on guessing. Maybe your reward could be some jet aeroplane lollies. LOL. Miss K

I meant to put the shadow of the wing.Elliott

Well done all you good guessers. It was indeed the shadow of Mount Taranaki. Mount Taranaki is an old volcano so it has that triangle shape that volcanoes have because of all the ash and stuff falling on its slopes. Miss K
