Rachel's Yesterday Tomorrow

This is my Great Grandpa's compass that came home from London with him in 1889. It's special to us because of who owned it. These are some pictures of it.
I think it looks a face with eyes and a nose.

    1889 is a really long time ago. Does the compass still point to the north like it is supposed to do?
